Commentary

The Deve Hüyük assemblage includes eleven small, light "spearheads" of this type, weighing between 11g and 16g, with flat iron blades and extended tangs for fitting into a notched wooden shaft. It is unclear whether these were for very light javelins or for very heavy arrows: Moorey opts for the former (Moorey 1980, pp. 60-64).
