Stamp Seal Pendant from the Lydian Treasure

This tiny (2.3 cm) pendant is a good example of the delicate craftsmanship of which the artisans of Lydia were capable during this period. It was found in the Ikiztepe Tumulus and its device depicts two griffins facing each other, paw raised. It has been noted that this stamp seal is rather different in form than the octagonal seals of a slightly later period.
