British Victory Medal

The British Victory Medal was given to servicemen and women who were mobilised for war service in the United Kingdom or the British Empire and who entered a theatre of war between 5 August 1914 and 11 November 1918. It was also awarded for later service, such as the British naval mission to Russia (1919-1920) and mine clearance in the North Sea after the war. The design of the medal and ribbon was used by other allied and associated countries, with some differences.

About 6.3 million Victory Medals were issued in the UK and over 8 million in other countries, including France, Italy and the United States.
