1914 and 1914-1915 Star

The 1914 Star was awarded to officers and men and women of the British and Indian Expeditionary Forces who served in France or Belgium some time between 5th August and 22nd-23rd November 1914 (the day after the declaration of war and the end of the First Battle of Ypres).

The 1914-1915 Star was given to soldiers and supporting personnel of British military forces and the various forces of the British Dominions, India and the Colonies who served against the Central European Powers between 5 August 1914 and 31 December 1915. Some 2,366,000 copies of the 1914-1915 Star were awarded, to be compared to only 365,622 of the 1914 Star (Wikipedia). Those who had received the 1914 Star did not also get the 1914-1915 Star.
