Eurasia and Africa c. 1025 AD

This map gives you a broad image of how the world looked like c.1025 AD. China is ruled by the Song dynasty. Islam, following its powerful expansion in the 8th-9th centuries, has splintered into several caliphates: the Abbasids, the Fatimids, and Umayyads (mostly in the Spanish peninsula). Europe is dominated by the Holy Roman Empire (in central Europe) and the Byzantine Empire (called in this map the Roman Empire). Note the presence of many other empires across the region: Khmer Empire in Southeast Asia, the Ghaznavid Empire in Persia, the Chola Empire in South India.
