Charter of Queen Philippa (1347)

This is a charter issued by Queen Philippa. In it she grants the College an annual payment of 20 marks (a mark was two thirds of a pound). This was a significant gift, making up about a fifth of the College’s annual income.

The seal is Philippa’s personal seal.
