The Making of Morison's Historia

'The Making of Morison's Historia' is the synopsis of a monograph-length Cabinet contribution authored by Stephen Harris, Professor of Plant Sciences at the University of Oxford: Robert Morison’s 'Plantarum Historia Universalis Oxoniensis': A Seventeenth-Century Botanical Treasure, available here. It focuses on the first Professor of Botany in Oxford in 1669, Robert Morison (1620-1683) and his major research project, the Plantarum historiaes universalis Oxoniensis (Historia), a new classification of the world’s plants based on fruit characteristics.
