Each zodiac sign has two vellum labels pasted onto it (some are missing), upon which are written the name of the sign and the word Bonum, Indifferens, or Malum (good, indifferent, or bad respectively). These possibly indicate the appropriateness of that time for bloodletting.

The painted image of a lion on the wheel has two labels:

1. On the left with the name of the zodiac sign: leo
2. On the right: Malum
