Adhai-dvipa: Jain diagram of the world

Circular diagrams representing the world are a common feature of cultures across Eurasia in the era of the European middle ages. Some of these diagrams, although including some representation of rivers and seas, are otherwise almost purely symbolic. This Jain chart of the world, dating from the fifteenth century, is an excellent example.
