The manuscript, thought to have been made in South Germany around 1485, contains texts relating to astronomy, astrology, and medicine. Particularly striking about this copy of the disease woman is the way in which it is coloured. The gradation of flesh tones gives the sense that the figure is three-dimensional, particularly the creasing of the skin around the legs. The manuscript also contains a depiction of the 'wound man', described in the next unit.
